Cupcake of the Week: Sugar Fairy Cake + Mini Review

When Angelic Pretty came out with Sugar Fairy Cake, I had to get it. I reserved the mint version since this would be the most subtle of colors and I’m not one who normally does candy-inducing Sweet Lolita outfits.
Now that Angelic Pretty has a US website, the reservation process was pretty easy, and when the shipment came in the store sent me an email (and voicemail!) that they had plenty of accessories.  So as a last-minute purchase I bought a matching headbow that came with the order (with no additional shipping charges.
Seeing it in person, I’m glad I made this purchase. It’s very pale and will work well with retro-styled and SweetXClassic coordinates.

Cupcake of the Week : Ditsy Cupcake Shoppers Tote

When I went to Max Brenner’s with a group of friends, I was quickly fixated on this tote bag.  At first I didn’t believe her when she said she got it Forever 21, so I decided to do some research.

Forever21 has coyly branded it the “Ditsy Cupcake Shoppers Tote.” Honestly not sure where the ditsy part is, unless you’re ditsy enough to pass this deal up.

It’s a $1.50 so you really can’t go wrong with a giant bag for groceries and the like.

Cupcake of the Week: Georgetown Cupcake

I did manage to see a notecard that said “New York Cheesecake” flavor.

My original intent was the show you actual Georgetown Cupcakes and report back on how good it was. However judging by the line it was probably good, if not popular.

For inquiring minds, Georgetown Cupcakes is a DC-based cupcake shop that opened up a New York location in SoHo. If you like lines then head to 111 Mercer Street (between Spring and Prince Street) and report back.

Cupcake of the Week: Butch Bakery

Cupcakes gone commando

Sometimes dudes want cupcakes too.  However I doubt you can find a macho man going into Magnolia Bakery solo to order a baker’s dozen.

Butch Bakery solves this problem by spiking the batter and dubbing his creations “Jackhammer”, “Big Papi”, and “Beer Run” to name a few.

Butch Bakery is NYC-based, and currently taking online orders only.

Cupcake of the Week: Betsey Johnson NYFW

Glitter, Pop Rocks and Frosting Oh My! – bjtwittermachine

In honor of NYFW (which starts Thursday), Betsey Johnson collaborated with Baked by Melissa to create a very glittery cupcake. They were sent as invitations to her show on Valentine’s Day, but as a special treat Baked by Melissa will be selling them exclusively online during Fashion Week (2/9 – 2/16)

25 for $25 and 50 for $50
